The Jewish name Rapoport (Rappoport, Rapaport, Ropoport) common in Italy, Germany, and Poland consists of two surnames – Rapa and Porto; it was formed into one to signify a marriage between representatives of the two families bearing these names (we used materials from the website https://toldot.ru/life/lnames/a/).
