Annotation:

The name Flaksman originates from the German word “Flachs” (translated as “flax.”) Probably, the business of an ancestor of the name’s bearer was related to products from flax (we used materials from the website https://toldot.ru/life/lnames/a/).

ס'. פלקסמן, בן 28. אזור פריוויסליאן (פולין הקונגרסאית). יהודים אירופאים. תצלום מהאוסף של ארקדי דנילוביץ' אלקינד (1869-1920), שבשנות 1894-1896 ערך מחקרים אנתרופולוגיים מבין יהודי האזור פריוויסליאן. צלם ד'.ד'. אלקינד. 1897. שם המשפחה "פלקס" הגיע מהמקור הגרמני - "Flachs" (מתורגם כ"פשתן"). ככל הנראה, פעילותו של האב הקדמון של נושא שם המשפחה הזה היתה קשורה למוצרי פשתן.
