Annotation:

After the end of the Crimean War, in 1856, retired soldiers of Jewish origin were permitted to settle in towns for pursuing artisan occupations, and in 1859, most of restrictions on residence of all other Jews in Crimean towns were canceled. In the 1860s, the number of the Jewish community increased; the construction of synagogues started all over Crimea. The photograph was displayed at the Russian Ethnographic Exhibition of 1867 in Moscow.

יהודי של חצי האי קרים. מחוז טאוריה. יהודים של חצי האי קרים. צלם אלמוני. 1866. לאחר תום מלחמת קרים, בשנת 1856, הותר לחיילים בדימוס ממוצא יהודי להתיישב בערים על מנת עיסוקם במלאכה, ובשנת 1859 בוטלו ההגבלות על תניאי מגוריו של שאר היהודים בערי חצי האי קרים. בשנת 1860 אוכלוסיית הקהילה היהודית גדלה: החלה בניית בתי הכנסת ברחבי חצי האי קרים. התצלום הוצג בתערוכה האתנוגרפית הרוסית שהתקיינה בשנת 1867 במוסקבה.
