Annotation:

In 1847, the Jewish community of Simferopol comprised the communities of Simferopol proper (431 persons), Yalta (87 persons) and Eupatoria (30 persons). After the Crimean War of 1853–56, the inflow of Ashkenazim to Simferopol noticeably increased. According to some data, the number of rabbinical Jews in Crimea in 1863 was over 5,000. The photograph was displayed at the Russian Ethnographic Exhibition of 1867 in Moscow.

יהודי מעיר סימפרופול. מחוז טאוריה, סימפרופול. יהודים של חצי האי קרים. צלם אלמוני. 1866. בשנת 1847, האגודה היהודית של סימפרופול כללה את הקהילות בסימפרופול (431 אנשים), כמו גם יאלטה (87 אנשים) ויוופטוריה (30 אנשים). לאחר מלחמת קרים בשנים 1853-56 עליית האשכנזים לסימפרופול גדלה משמעותית. על פי ניתונים, בשנת 1863 מספר היהודים הרבנים בחצי האי קרים היה מעל מ-5,000 איש. התצלום הוצג בתערוכה האתנוגרפית הרוסית שהתקיינה בשנת 1867 במוסקבה.
