Annotation:

The photograph was received from the Kamenets District Chief of Police. Old man in a praying attire. The shtetl of Zinkovets on the Smotrich River was a suburb of Kamenets. In the 1840-s, it had 999 residents, of which 37 percent of Jews, mostly poor artisans, coachmen, and unskilled laborers. The photograph was displayed at the Russian Ethnographic Exhibition of 1867 in Moscow.

יהודי מעיירת זינקובץ. מחוז פודולסקי, אוייזד קמנצקי, וולוסט דולז'צקאיה וולוסטסקאיה, עיירת זינקובץ. יהודים אירופאים. צלם אלמוני. 1866. איש זקן בבגדי התפילה. עיירת זינקובץ על נהר סמוטריץ' היתה פרבר של קמנץ. בשנת 1840 התגוררו בעיירה 999 תושבים, מהם 37% היו יהודים: בעיקר הם היו בעלי מלאכה עניים, עגלונים ופועלי ליבה.
