The Nenets rode a deer team all year round. 2 to 3 deer were harnessed in a sled in winter, and 4 to 5 in summer, as it was harder for the sled to move on grass and moss. Typical for the Nenets was multi-strap, fan-shaped harnessing. The picture shows a team of 4 deer driven by a boy sitting on the sled with a husky and with a khorey in his hands. Abstract by I.A.
