Annotation:

A shaman's drum with a case. The drum is ovoid. A reindeer hide is stretched over a wooden rim, and the front surface bears a symbolic design painted in red paint in the form of a cross with branches at the ends. The cross symbolized the universe and the four cardinal directions. The drum was a musical instrument used during rituals, housed the shaman's spirit helpers, and served as a means of transportation. The drum's case is sewn from reindeer skin and matches the drum's shape and decoration. Unlike the design, the drum has, in addition to the cross, an outer oval rim and a circle in the center – a symbol of boundaries.
