Sompyl pema – footwear made of the hide of a wild reindeer with the fur turned inside. A kunkyl lel kezy or "iron calf bone” is attached to the calf, and red cloth fringe is sewn under the kneecap to represent blood vessels. A representation of a bear paw or korkyt katy is attached over the fingers. The bear was considered a “strong” spirit that protected the shaman and was connected with the Lower World.
