Annotation:

The shtetl of Yaryshev was the birthplace of Israel Iosif Sirkin (1860-1928), Jewish writer and playwright, merchant of the 1st guild. He wrote in Hebrew, and is also known for his charity (he supported Hebrew periodicals).

בית כנסת מעץ של אמצע המאה ה-18. מחוז פודולסקי, אוייזד מוגילבסקי, עיירה יהודית ירישב. יהודים אירופאים. הצלם זארמבסקי א'.אי'. .צילום משלחתי. 1925 תמונה מודפסת. בעיירת ירשב נולד סירקיס ישראל יוסף (1860-1928), סופר ומחזאי יהודי, סוחר האגודה ה-1. הוא כתב בעברית, והיה ידוע גם בשל פעילותו הפילנתרופית (הוא תמך בירחונים בעברית).
