Annotation:

Jewish ethnographic expedition of S. A. An-sky. The expedition photography covered not only “Jewish artistic heritage assets” (synagogues or tombstones), but also “all aspects of old Jewish everyday life”: ordinary houses, streets, and squares.

Ethnical annotation:

אדם עם זרוע הנדנדה. מחוז ווהלין, אוייזד דובנסקי, עיירה יהודית קוזין. יהודים אירופאים. המשלחת האתנוגרפית היהודית של ס'.א'. אנ-סקי צלם - יודובין ס'.ב'. 1912. נגטיב. היקף מטרותיה של המשלחת לצילום, בנוסף ל"אוצרות העתיקות האמנותית" (כגון בתי כנסת, מצבות או כלי פולחן), כלל גם את "כל ההיבטים של חיי השגרה היהודיים הישנים": בתי מגורים פשוטים, רחובות, כיכרות.
