Annotation:

Jewish ethnographic expedition of S. A. An-sky. Tailoring was the most widespread trade among Jews in the Russian Empire. Almost every community had its own tailor, as the ritual rules ion clothing had to be observed. Tailoring was also related to trading in second-hand clothes: they were set right prior to selling.

חייט. מחוז ווהלין, אוייזד לוצקי, עיירה יהודית פולונויה. יהודים אירופאים. המשלחת האתנוגרפית היהודית של ס'.א'. אנ-סקי צלם - יודובין ס'.ב'. 1912. נגטיב. חייטות הייתה המלאכה הכי נפוצה בין היהודים של האימפריה הרוסית. כמעט בכל קהילה היה חייט משלה, כיוון שתמיד היה צורך לעמוד בדרישות המסורתיות לביגוד. חייטות הייתה קשורה גם למכירת בגדי יד שניה אשר תוקנו וסודרו לפני המכירה.
