Annotation:

In the early 20th century, there were several studios in Vitebsk; in Zadunovskaya Street was the studio of V. Ostrovsky who presented himself as artist photographer (the reverse of the card shows, apart from the owner’s name and city, also a lithographic image of a palette). On the reverse of the letterhead card is the inscription in Hebrew: "As a souvenir to my future great-grandchildren, with best regards to my beloved daughter Leah Gitel Sarah(?), the Almighty save them(?)... I will love them and your new ones (children?)" In the upper-left corner is the date «6/5 905»

דיוקן איש מבוגר. מחוז ויטבסק, עיר ויטבסק. יהודים אירופאים. צלם ו'.ו'. אוסטרובסקי .1905 שנת בתחילת המאה ה-20 פעלו בויטבסק מספר חנויות הצילום: ברחוב זדונובסקאיה נמצא היה סטודיו של ו'. אוסטרובסקי שהציג את עצמו כאמן וצלם (על גבו של טופס האמן האישי, בנוסף לשם המשפחה ועיר, באופן ליטוגרפי צויר לוח הצבעים). כיתוב בעברית על גבו של טופס האמן האישי:6/5 1905 יום יו' - יוב' (?) אייר תש"ה למזכרת האהבה לבני נחדים שיהיו לבת האהובה לאה גוטל שרה (?) בטובה (?) יי את יי ביהם (?) אוהבם ולהביהם חדשים שלכם. התאריך בפינה השמאלית העליונה - "6/5.1905".
