Women’s footwear was shorter that men’s. Women’s footwear was made of white deer leg skin. Broad strips of dark fur on the sides and a narrow strip of dark fur above the heel also distinguished women’s footwear from men’s. To prevent snow from getting into the footwear, the upper part of the tops was tightly strapped up below the knee with a passing braid in the overalls’ legs. Abstract by I.A. Karapetova
