The gaters are made from beige cotton fabric on a brown lining. At the top and bottom they are decorated with multicolor fabric strips, with a curvilinear ornament along the lower edge. Elk suede strings for tying to a belt or “pelvis cover” are sewn to the upper edge, and a strap for winding round the ankle is sewn to the lower edge.
