The armband was part of men’s festive clothing. The image of a bear's head on it was considered a talisman against evil spirits. Armbands of this type were sometimes worn by men during bear hunting as well as a talisman. The cult of the bear-ancestor was widespread among the Orochs and other peoples of the Amur-Sakhalin region. Abstract by Tatiana Sem
