Choron, kumiss vessel, goblet-shaped, with a round body on a conical stem with a wide foot. The cup’s surface is decorated over the whole periphery with a carved geometric ornament: diamond-shaped cells, zigzagged, ribbed. The choron was a symbol of plenty, happiness, and wealth. It had a special place in the traditional culture of the Sakha (Yakut) people, and was the main object at the Yssyakh feast, or the Yakut New Year.
