"Chepe-taum" is a silk fabric with yellow and red longitudinal stripes. Produced by the Teke people, it was used to sew women's robes. Weaving was a home occupation for women, woven on a "tara" or "dukan" loom—a narrow-beam horizontal loom of the common Central Asian type.
