Annotation:

“Cold” synagogue on Shkolische. “The lions hold two plaques with inscriptions, and on the lower one, the master left a memory of himself” (from the memoirs of artist and architect L. M. Lisitsky who visited the synagogue in 1916). In the lower medallion is an inscription with the artist’s name (Aizik Sagal of Slutsk) and date (18th century).

ציור קיר בית הכנסת. מחוז מוגילב, עיר מוגילב. יהודים אירופאים. הצלם מילר א'. א'. צילום משלחתי. 1908 תמונה מודפסת. "האריות מחזיקים את שתי הלוחיות עם הכיתובים, ועל תחתונה האמן השאיר את המזיכרת על עצמו" (מזיכרונותיו של האמן ואדריכל ל'.מ'. ליסיצקי שביקר בבית הכנסת בשנת 1916). במדליון התחתון נמצא כיתוב עם שם האמן (אייזיק סגל מעיר סלוצק) ותאריך (המאה ה-18).
