The Khanty and Mansi widely used fences two-ledger fences for wild deer hunting. Often they reached 10 to 15 km in length. “Gates” of passages were left in such fences, aside of which bow traps were set, or pitfall traps were dug. Bumping against the fence, an animal walked along it, and entering the gate it died either from the bow trap or getting into the pit. Abstract by I.A. Karapetova
