A shamanic cult object. Tynju is a shaman’s staff, wooden, painted red with black stripes (imitation of a snake); the handle depicts the head of Yegda the clairvoyant. At the bottom, the staff ends in a likeness of a spear’s point. The staff was used in grand rituals during the spring calendar feast Uundi or during grand funeral receptions.
