Annotation:

This winter overcoat is made from red fox pelt, with the fur facing inward, and the outer surface covered with a patterned silk damask: black flowers are woven on a green background. This elegant fur coat, made from fox, squirrel, or hare fur, covered with silk and damask fabric on top, was a source of pride for the Cossack women of the Don and Northern Caucasus. The coat widened toward the bottom and was wrapped or tied with a sash when worn. Because of its distinctive cut, these coats were called "Don" fur coats.
