Malakhai, bonnet-like cap of glutton fur, with fur lining and dark fur trimming of the front edge and dog fur trimming of the neck line, was worn by the Chukchi women in winter and during migrating. The cap was fastened at the front with leather strings. Its decoration is a mosaic strip of alternating triangles of white and dark deer kamus provided between the dark trimming and the crown part.
