Annotation:

Chukchi pipe for smoking during public meetings, wooden, with a low bowl and a shallow hole in it. Along the periphery of the bowl’s outer edge is a metal ring. The pipe’s shank, wide in its greater part, gradually tapers to the ivory mouthpiece. The suede pipe case is decorated with alternating light and dark stripes with a combined ornament, and a brown fringe of whitecoat seal down hair. Abstract by V.V. Gorbacheva
