The toy is a miniature model of a saddle bag. It is a wooden box with a deer skin suede covering, with strings for tying to the deer saddle. Every child had their own toy herd of deer, and children copying their parents’ activity “went” hunting and “pastured” the herd, or played migration, thus getting a feel for the traditional lifestyle of hunters and deer herdsmen.
