A float invented by the Norwegians, in the form of a hollow glass ball tied round with a rope net; tied to the net was a rope with a loop at its end, with which it was tied to various fish nets. Besides, the glass float was used as a buoy for a paternoster line, i.e. a line shorter than usual for fishing on shoals. Abstract by O.G. Baranova
