Annotation:

The main type of Mountain Jewish settlement was an aul with dozens (sometimes hundreds) of households; the buildings were of adobe brick, stone, brick, and wood. The houses were mostly two-room or three-room; inside them, the interior retained elements of a traditional Caucasian dwelling.

נשים על גג הבית. מחוז באקו, אויזד קובנינסקי, עיר קובה. יהודי הרים. צלם א.א. מילר. 1907. הסוג העיקרי של יישובי יהודי ההרים היה אאול עם עשרות (לפעמים - מאות) חצרות; הבתים נבנו מסאמן (לבנת בוץ), אבן, לבנה ועץ. רוב הבתים היו בני שניים ושלושה חדרים; ובעיצוב פניהם נשמרו המאפיינים של בית קווקזי המסורתי.
