A winter open-front garment with a wide turn-down collar, the outer surface covered in blue-brown silk with green-gray patterned stripes. This elegant fur coat made of fox, squirrel, or hare fur, covered with silk and damask fabric on top, was a source of pride for Cossack women of the Don and Northern Caucasus. The coat widened toward the bottom and was wrapped or tied with a sash when worn. Due to its distinctive cut, these coats were called "Don" fur coats.
