Dolls were favorite toys of girls. Dolls’ gender differed in clothing only. The doll man was dressed in a malica, a closed-up garment, or in a sovik. The dolls’ heads were made from duck’s culmen and were attached to the “body,” a rectangular piece of felt decorated with multicolored cloth strips sewn to it vertically. This doll is dressed in a miniature malica with a hood decorated with red cloth edging. Abstract by I.A. Karapetova
