Annotation:

In the 1920s, the religious life in the communities of many shtetls stopped. Nathan Stanislavsky, the rabbi of the shtetl of Zhabokrich from 1901, came to the conclusion that “the shtetl does not need a rabbi any more, because nobody goes to him.” At that same time, two cheders of four were closed. Some of the Jewish young people were engaged in Komsomol activities, which were held in Yiddish.
