Annotation:

Jewish ethnographic expedition of S. A. An-sky. In the 18th century, women’s spaces in synagogues were moved to the second storey of attachments, and they formed galleries on one or more sides (except for the eastern wall) with a separate entrance.

בית הכנסת מעץ. מחוז פודולסק, אוייזד לטיצ'בסקי, עיירה יהודית מיכלפול. יהודים אירופאים. המשלחת האתנוגרפית היהודית של ס'.א'. אנ-סקי צלם - יודובין ס'.ב'. 1912-1914. תמונה מודפסת. במאה ה-18 מרחבי נשים בבתי הכנסת הועברו לקומה השנייה, והם יצרו מן גלריות בצד אחד או יותר (למעט הכותל המזרחי) עם כניסה נפרדת.
