The shaman's costume reflects traditional ideas about the worlds. Three crosses and three metal pendants on the back of the caftan symbolize the Upper, Middle and Lower Worlds of the Universe; anthropomorphic figures attached to each plate are images of ancestral spirits - patrons of the shaman; zoomorphic - spirits-helpers of the shaman. Stylized figurines of swans, attached to the shelves of the caftan, are the spirits assistants to a shaman.
