Cut out of one long narrow deerskin suede strip. The face is all embroidered with beads and hair from under reindeer’s neck. The hem and breast are trimmed with long white chamois fur. Attached to the plastron are three openwork metal pendants, diamond-shaped, which served not only for decoration but also as amulets. A women's plastron differed from a men’s one in the shape of its lower edge: the women’s one was straight, and the men’s one had a pointed nose. Abstract by M.V. Fedorova
