Members of the Okhotsk-Kamchatka mining expedition (1895-1898), with Dr. V. N. Slyunin among them, used teams of harness dogs as means of transport. They were driven by dog-drivers from among indigenous people who knew well the habits and features of nutrition of these animals. Abstract by V.V. Gorbacheva
