In the culture of the Tuvans, Altaians, Khakasses a cuckoo was one of the main deities assisting to a shaman. According to their beliefs, it has a special ability to choose the path for a shaman during the ritual, so before the start of the ritual a cuckoo was sent to find the safest path.
