“Yaglyk,” a rectangular headscarf of three square uncut pieces of machine-made red calico with a pinkish flower pattern. The Yamoud women of Dashoguz flung it over a soft cap or “taqiya” skull cap so that its middle fit tight the base cap. The left end of the headscarf was let down to the back, while the right end folded several times into a strip was passed under the chin from the right loop-like, fastening the loop’s end on top of the headgear. A triangular red “guynach” headscarf served this function in the Teke women’s headgear.
