Board, part of the bidarrah seat with a plot-driven pattern from the life of the sea coast Chukchi and sea mammal hunting. The Chukchi used to apply such drawings in black ink based on soot and fat to oars, bidarrahs, and their seats for lucky hunting. Later, similar plot-driven images on engraved walrus tusks and sculptural compositions of bone carvers became quite widespread. Abstract by V.V. Gorbacheva
