Annotation:

They had a peculiar shape and method of fixing on a long handle. The shank of a crescent-blade knife was fixed on a wooden pole handle, and that of a leaf-shaped, double-edged steel blade knife was inserted into a groove on the upper end of a metal pipe sawn lengthwise, and fixed with metal rivets. The lower pipe end was fixed on the wooden shaft handle. This ensured the knife’s strength and longevity. Abstract by V.V. Gorbacheva
