Made of black cloth and shaped like a poke bonnet, with a polar fox fur lining and a white deer fur trimming. Decorated with red cloth strips embroidered with multicolored beads. The cap is tied with deer skin suede straps, fitting the head tightly and protecting the ears, forehead, and back of the head against cold. The men’s and women’s headgear differed in their beaded patterns: kugalak (deer's ears) were embroidered on men’s ones, and raw hide tent-shaped patterns, on women’s ones. Abstract by M.V. Fedorova
