The hammer’s core, a boulder with a recess on one side, is fixed on a wooden handle with a raw hide belt, which safely held it after drying. This ancient method of making working tools has survived among the Chukchi, Eskimos, and Koryaks up to this day. Abstract by V.V. Gorbacheva
