Annotation:

Due to congestion of population and high land fees, the residential development in shtetls was very dense, the passages between houses were narrow, and there were no homestead gardens. The houses were wooden or clay, or combining a wooden structure with a tall stone base. The house’s space facing the street was often used for a retail outlet or a workshop.

ביתים. מחוז פודולסקי, אוייזד קמנץ-פודולסקי, עיירה יהודית לנצקורון. יהודים אירופאים. צלם מוגיליאנסקי נ'.מ'.צילום משלחתי. 1907 תמונה מודפסת. בשל צפיפות האוכלוסייה ותשלום גבוה עבור הקרקע, בניית בתי המגורים בעיירה היתה צפופה מאוד, מעברים בין הבתים היו צרים, ללא גינות. הבתים היו מעץ או מחרסית, כמו גם שילוב של מבנה עץ על בסיס אבן גבוהה. המרחב בבית אשר חלונותיו פנו לרחוב, בעיקר שימש כדוכן מסחרי או כבית מלאכה.
