This folding icon consists of four rectangular leaves with a crown or “kokoshnik.” Shown on each of three leaves are four scenes of the Twelve Feasts, and on the fourth one, four scenes of veneration of Virgin Mary’s icons. In the leaves’ crowns are the scenes “Crucifixion,” “New Testament Trinity,” “Elevation of the Holy Cross” and “Eulogy of Virgin Mary.” The background is coated with blue and white enamel. The Danilovo (“Pomor”) casting, i.e. copper and silver objects (crosses, triptychs, small icons etc.) became widespread in Russia. Abstract by O.G. Baranova
