A rectangular eye for the axe shaft is provided in the middle. On the blade face is a square brand with a Chinese hieroglyph. Axes were essential tools of Chinese hunters and harvesters. They were used for any wood processing jobs – in construction, making traps, tackles and utensils, and clearing agricultural areas.
