Figurines made of unusually shaped branches occupied an important place in the Koryak family. They were considered as amulets that bring good luck and strong protectors from evil spirits responsible for diseases. During the rituals, they were “fed”, smeared with fat from sea animals or sacrificial deer. Abstract by V.V. Gorbacheva
