Sewn from a wide deerskin suede strip with a hole left on top, and a long narrow strip behind, hanging down to the back; embroidered with solid rows of blue, black, and white beads. It is a quite rare sample of the Evenki festive headgear. Routinely, men wore a headscarf tying it bandanna style, also leaving open the top of the head. It was believed that one can communicate with the Cosmos via the hole on the pate. Abstract by M.V. Fedorova
