Wooden sea hunter’s cap, triangular, with one longer end. The cap’s surface is decorated with alternating color stripes. A sea animal hunting scene is shown on the green stripe in black ink. Attached to the back of the cap is a decorative bone plate and walrus whiskers, and to the front, a bone bird figurine. Such headgear protected the hunter’s eyes against sunlight flecks on the water and against inflammation. Abstract by V.V. Gorbacheva
