Annotation:

The picture shows women of the Tersk or Kandalaksha coast of the Kola Peninsula wearing traditional festive costumes. The main components were a festive white chemise consisting of two parts, or a plastron with short or long sleeves like a short chemisette and a pinafore. Pinafores were decorated with frills, multicolor ribbons, or lace. The girl’s headgear is a soft headband folded from a silk kerchief into a hoop. Ribbons (kosniks) were twined into the plaits of little and teenage girls. Required attributes of festive costumes were decorations: beads, necklaces, earrings, bracelets, and rings. Abstract by O.G.
